James Clark has implemented this DSSSL engine that is freely available in source code form from his FTP archive.
It is known to run on various Unix-like platforms such as Linux as well as less robust platforms such as Windows 95 and Windows NT. It is available under the same (minimally restrictive) licensing provisions as SP.
One unfortunate factor about Jade is that it appears to have significant 32-bit architectural dependancies. People involved with Debian Project efforts to port software for Linux to the Digital/Compaq Alpha architecture have been having problems getting Jade to compile or to function correctly, apparently due to 32-bit dependencies.
