Those of us from Canada and the US are accustomed to not needing much more than a birth certificate to visit another country. That works in Canada and the US, and visa requirements may be quite straightforward for most of Europe; the complexity of the process increases sharply if you head further afield such as to Africa or Asia.

If you plan to use these consular services, be prepared to make a day of it. This "consular meeting" was the densest congregation of Indians that I have ever seen outside of India; there are many Indian "ex-patriates" in the US, and they apparently need new passports often enough as to keep the consul busy each month. The result was a "crowd of Indians", which was a bit of the flavour of the resulting trip.
The pictures presently visible are the ones I took with my digital camera; at some point I will likely also add in further photographs taken with 35mm camera and scanned by Kodak.
Apparently, my picture of Hyderabad taken from the Golconda Fort was picked up as being one of the representatives of Hyderabad at the above web site. Perhaps I'm famous now...
